Today is a great day. After twelve weeks of hard work and commitment, all the students from the CREATE Potential Employment Academy have graduated.
In a fantastic ceremony at the Academy base in Leeds all the students were presented with their certificates of achievement and their QCF qualifications in Retail. Even better than that were the letters that were dropping on the doorsteps of the students offering them jobs with local employers.
12 weeks ago we began a journey. CREATE, in partnership with Elmfield Training, believed that for people who had been homeless or excluded from the workplace one step was all that was needed for them to climb the employment ladder. Today was a big step on that journey.
100% of the students who completed their training have been offered jobs and their new life begins today. We haven’t finished yet though.
In a week another 25 students begin their training with CREATE and the story starts again.
